Barcoder Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 October 2026
1. Who we are. Barcoder is provided by LumiVerse d.o.o., Markuševečka cesta 20C, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia, OIB 88595646800 ("we"). These terms apply to the Barcoder app, API and hosted MCP server. The public wiki is free to read and is covered only by sections 6, 8 and 10.
2. The service. Barcoder decodes payment QR codes and barcodes, reads invoices with an AI model, and compares what an invoice says with what its payment code would pay. Each checked invoice is one "case".
3. Free trial and free tier.
- Without an account, you get a small number of trial cases per device (3).
- With a free account, you get a monthly allowance of cases (10).
- Allowances may change; we'll show the current numbers in the app.
- Trial AI reading has a shared daily limit, after which you need to sign up or wait until the next day (UTC).
- There are no paid plans yet. Packs shown as "coming soon" can't be bought; paid terms will be published before any payment is taken.
4. Your account and keys.
- You must be at least 16 to create an account.
- Give a working email address.
- Keep API keys and connected-app access secret. You are responsible for what happens with your keys until you revoke them.
- You may connect AI agents and scripts; their use counts as yours.
5. Acceptable use. You must not:
- upload documents you have no right to process, or anything unlawful;
- upload special-category data (health and similar) unless it is incidental to an invoice;
- try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or get around rate limits, trial limits or quotas (including by cycling devices, IPs or accounts);
- use Barcoder to build lists of people or accounts, or to make or test fraudulent payment codes;
- resell access without our written agreement.
We may throttle, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, with notice where reasonable.
6. No payment or financial guarantee.
- Barcoder is a checking aid. It does not make, approve or block payments, and it is not a bank, payment service, or financial, legal or tax adviser.
- You decide whether to pay.
- A MATCH means only that the fields we compared agree. It does not guarantee that the invoice is genuine, that the payee is who they claim, or that the payment is safe.
- A MISMATCH or review means "check before paying"; it is not proof of fraud.
- AI reading can be wrong. Confirm the fields before relying on a check. VIES and other outside sources can be unavailable or out of date.
- Check the payee in your own banking app before paying.
7. Liability.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any payment you make or don't make, or for indirect or consequential loss.
- Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to EUR 100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater.
- Nothing limits liability for intent or gross negligence, death or personal injury, or anything else that Croatian law (including Art. 345 of the Civil Obligations Act) or consumer law does not allow us to limit.
- The service is provided "as is", without guaranteed availability.
8. Intellectual property.
- We own Barcoder's software, design and wiki content. You may quote and link to the wiki with attribution.
- You keep your rights in what you upload, and give us the right to process it only to provide the service as described in the privacy notice.
- Codes you generate are yours to use.
9. Termination and deletion.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We delete your data as the privacy notice describes.
- We may end the free service, or your access, with 30 days' notice, or at once for serious breach of section 5.
10. Governing law and courts.
- Croatian law applies. Courts in Zagreb have jurisdiction.
- If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and may sue in your local courts.
- Complaints: write to info@lumiverse.hr or to our postal address. We confirm receipt and answer in writing within 15 days. We do not currently take part in alternative dispute resolution for consumer disputes.
11. Changes. We may update these terms. We'll publish the new version with a date and email account holders before significant changes take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them; if you don't, delete your account.
